Magazine, an Ohio Eminent Scholar, is one of five professors from around the country who was selected to participate because of their sports analytics teaching background. The conference runs Feb. 28-March 1 in Boston, and Magazine will serve on the panel From the Classroom to the Locker Room: Teaching the Next Generation of Sports Analysts."

At the conference, Magazine will serve on a panel with fellow professors from Yale University, University of Southern California, University of Iowa and INSEAD. They will address such topics as the importance and methods of teaching a sports analytics course, and how analytics impact and change the management of sports.
The overall conference agenda will address a variety of subjects and include analytics on basketball, soccer, hockey and football; how to launch a career in sports; and the use of analytics for competitive advantage.
