UC Law School Panel Sheds Light on Immigration Challenges

The UC College of Law will present "An Insider's View on Immigration Issues," an opportunity to hear the “inside” perspective from professionals who work on immigration-related issues, and to understand the roles and responsibilities of their respective agencies.

The panel discussion will be held on Wednesday, April 30, 2014 at 5 p.m. in Room 118 of the College of Law. The event is open to UC law faculty, staff and students, as well as community leaders and others involved in immigrant services.

Participants include:

• Ellen Kinker, Immigration Liaison, Office of Senator Rob Portman
• Helaine Tasch, District Director, United States Citizenship and Immigration Services – Cincinnati District Office, Department of Homeland Security
• Robert Warfel, Complex Financial Crimes Coordinator, Cincinnati FBI (includes civil rights violations)
• Sheriff Jim Neil, Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office 
• Judge Timothy S. Black, United States District Judge, Southern District of Ohio 
• David Mann, Vice Mayor, City of Cincinnati
• Antonio Barreto, asylee, former officer of the Venezuelan Air Force
  

Attorney and UC Law alumnae Marilyn Zayas-Davis will serve as moderator.
