Canopy Goes Live as the Portal for UC's eLearning Resources
Canopy, the University of Cincinnatis new eLearning ecosystem, is an innovative, collaborative and student-centric portal through which students will access UCs eLearning technologies and resources, including Blackboard, at
.
The launch of Canopy coincides with the launch of the upgraded Blackboard system, but Canopy and Blackboard are
not
the same.
Blackboard is the learning management system (LMS) under Canopy, where students and faculty can communicate with each other and access their courses, including assignments, syllabi, discussion boards, calendars and more. It is also a great way to connect with news and events at UC.
Canopy, on the other hand, is the umbrella eLearning ecosystem that will house ALL of UCs eLearning tools and resources. It will continue to grow and evolve as more components are added to its branches, but some of the tools that can currently be accessed at Canopy are Blackboard, Lynda.com, Lync, Office 365, university email and more.
The new portal is designed with a fresh, clean look that provides students and faculty with easy access to information about what is available in Canopy. UCs eLearning Committee is committed to creating an evolving eLearning ecosystem centered on innovation, collaboration and students, and is looking forward to feedback from the UC community.
