Lindner College of Business Graduate Students Take Silver in International Simulation Competition

The Kentucky Derby wasn't the only exciting race last Saturday. Three Master of Science in Information Systems students in UC’s Carl H. Lindner College of Business won silver in the sixth annual International ERPsim Competition.

Lindner graduate students Craig Helton, Prashant Srivastava and Ravisankar Sriram competed against 16 teams from five countries (U.S., Canada, Switzerland, Russia and Indonesia) to place second in the competition.

The trio had to manage a virtual company with ERPsim, a real-life ERP system using SAP ECC 6.0 and HANA. Students used the statistical software SAP to develop their own dashboards and use them in real-time to make their decisions and gain market insight.

The competition is hosted each year by the HEC Montreal business school and uses SAP ECC and HANA to create a sophisticated manufacturing business simulation. The tool was developed to teach business process and SAP skills, and has been used by 150 universities in 13 countries.
