UC's Kelly Epplen Elected Chair of ASHP Section

Kelly Epplen, PharmD, assistant professor of clinical pharmacy practice and administrative sciences at the James L. Winkle College of Pharmacy, has been elected chair of the section of ambulatory care practitioners for the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists (ASHP).
 
ASHP is a national professional organization whose more than 40,000 members include pharmacists, pharmacy technicians and student pharmacists who provide patient care services in hospitals, health systems and ambulatory clinics. The leadership of ASHP is comprised of a member-elected board of directors and includes various committees and councils.

Epplen was named a fellow to the ASHP in 2014, is a member of the advisory board for the society's Ambulatory Care BPS Examination review and recertification course, a contributing author for ASHP's revision of the Minimum Practice Standards for Ambulatory Care Pharmacy Practice, and co-authored the business plan development chapter in ASHP's publication, Building a Successful Ambulatory Care Practice.

Epplen will be in office for three years.
