It has been 100 years in the making, so the university will have some very special treats available to mark the occasion for people attending the Bearcats birthday party on Friday, Oct. 31.
Gourmet desserts will be featured as part of the celebration to officially mark the century mark since the name Bearcats was born on campus on Oct. 31, 1914.
Join UC's Student Government and other campus groups from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on the steps of Tangeman University Center on Oct. 31.
- Check out the complete commemorative website celebrating a century of Bearcats, including all the details of the party, the history of the Bearcats name and a timeline of the evolution of UC's nickname into a major university brand.
There will be cakes and cookies from Servatii Pastry Shop & Deli featuring the Bearcat mascot (old and new), and a surprise treat Bearcats fans are sure to love, as well as other giveaways. In addition to stopping by at the event, you can also take part by wishing the Bearcats a happy birthday in social media using #BearcatsBirthday with a favorite photo that shows off your love of UC's historic name.
The best posts will become part of the special Bearcats centennial website.
