UC Sales Team Members Capture Third Place in National Competition

UC Varsity Sales Team members Madison Watts, BBA 15, and Martha Smith, BBA 14, from the Carl H. Lindner College of Business took third place at the Great Northwoods Sales Warm-Up competition at the University of Wisconsin in Eau Claire, WI.

“This was the first time UC competed there, and Madison and Martha let every school know that UC came to compete by placing higher than any other competition we’ve been to,” says Jane Sojka, director of the UC Center for Professional Selling.

Sixty competitors from 20 university sales programs around the country worked on two complicated cases, selling an unknown product without prior industry experience, Sojka says. Watts individually placed first on the first day and sixth overall while Smith placed 17th on day one and ranked 20th overall in the two-day competition.
