Sixth Annual Hero2Hero Blood Drive Set for Nov. 11

This year, Veterans Day is not only a time we join together to remember those who have sacrificed their lives for our country, but also a time we can come together to help save lives closer to home.

Hoxworth Blood Center, University of Cincinnati, will host its 6th Annual Hero2Hero Blood Drive on Tuesday Nov. 11, from 10 a.m.-6 p.m. at Horseshoe Casino Cincinnati.

“Our soldiers, who defend democracy and our values, save lives and are heroes – equally, our donors are local heroes saving lives and helping people in need,” said Dr. Ronald Sacher, M.D., director of Hoxworth Blood Center.

Why should you help? Aside from giving lifesaving blood, care packages with donated items from P&G, LaRosa's Pizza, Gold Star, Skyline, Jenco Brothers and Montgomery Inn will be sent to local servicemen and women who are dedicating their time in the Middle East and onboard the U.S.S. George Washington.

Not to mention, all blood donors will receive a FREE Hero2Hero t-shirt.

“It’s something very simple you can do to help as many people as possible,” said Hoxworth donor Amber Stadler, who attended last year’s Hero2Hero blood drive. “People are always in need of blood donors.”

Schedule an appointment by calling 513-451-0910 or visit www.hoxworth.org/hero2hero.

Donors can also visit any Hoxworth Neighborhood Donor Center on Nov. 10 and Nov. 12 to sign a holiday greeting card that will be shipped in the care packages.

You must be 21 or older to enter Horseshoe Casino.
