Among international students, UC ranks in the top three worldwide for welcome services, personal banking and sports facilities. The university ranking in the top 10 worldwide for academic program organization and campus buildings, according to a recent International Student Barometer (ISB) survey.

UC Continues Tradition of Innovative Architecture with Expanded Nippert Stadium

Nippert Stadium's new West Pavilion opened in September and expanded one of America’s oldest collegiate stadiums from 35,000 to a roughly 40,000-seat capacity. The 450-foot long dramatic building is the most notable element of the $86 million overhaul of Nippert that includes more restrooms, expanded concession options and enhanced pedestrian circulation –– which fans discovered at UC’s first home game when the Bearcats beat Alabama A&M on Sept. 5.

UC Energy Sustainability Research Turns Food Waste to Fuel

CEAS researchers take aim at reducing the United States' annual 40 percent of food waste and are now able to convert waste into solid fuels, biodiesel and other products. This novel process essentially integrates algae production with anaerobic digestion and allows researchers to almost completely utilize the carbon found in food waste in a renewable manner.

New Report Finds Conservatives Demonstrate More Self-Control Than Liberals

Evidence from three studies uncovers a "critical difference" in self-control as a function of political ideology. Using Amazon Mechanical Turk Service, UC’s Joshua John Clarkson, assistant professor of marketing in the Carl H. Lindner College of Business, studied students at two Midwestern universities and 135 people across the U.S. Survey results reveal that conservatives show more self-control when they believed freewill was viewed as beneficial, however, liberals outperformed more when they believed freewill could undermine self-control.

Environmental Electronics: UC Breakthrough Promises Devices With High Speed, High Readability AND Low Power Usage

Pioneering UC research first posted in 2010 continues to draw interest from readers. That research, led by Jason Heikenfeld, professor in the College of Engineering and Applied Science, relates to electronic devices that have it all: high readability in bright sunlight and the ability to display high-speed content that can hold that image indefinitely with absolute zero electrical power usage.

UC’s microchip training includes innovative VR
