UC 'Innovate for Change' Panel Discussion Focuses on Diversity, Inclusion
The University of Cincinnati will host "Innovate for Change," a three-part, spring series of events that will focus on diversity, inclusion, and social and economic justice. The series is sponsored by UCs Office of Diversity and Inclusion and the Irate8.
The first "Innovate for Change" event is a panel discussion focusing on race and higher education and is set for
6-8 p.m., Thursday, Feb. 25
, in the University of Cincinnati Russell C. Myers Alumni Center.
The Feb. 25 discussion, free and open to the public, will be moderated by UC Board of Trustees Chairman Robert E. Richardson, Jr., and by UC undergraduate student Mitchell Phelps, who will help direct questions to an expert panel on how diversity and inclusion impacts the culture of college campuses.
Panelists are Emily Hough, professor in UCs College of Law and co-director of the colleges Center for Race, Gender and Social Justice; Verna Williams, professor in UCs College of Law and co-director of the colleges Center for Race, Gender and Social Justice; UC students Jackie Mulay, an at-large senator in Student Government and a member of the UC womens honorary, CWEST (Cincinnati Women in Excellence and Spirit Together), and Ashley Nkadi, co-president of the United Black Student Association, president of the UC chapter of Omicron Delta Kappa honorary society, leader within the Irate8 and a member of the UC womens honorary, CWEST (Cincinnati Women in Excellence and Spirit Together).
The next two events in the Innovate for Change series are
- 6-8 p.m., Wednesday, March 16, at Hughes STEM High School
- 6-8 p.m., Tuesday, April 5, at UCs Tangeman University Center
