UC Clermont and YWCA Co-host Event for Sexual Assault Awareness Month and National Crimes Victims Week

April is Sexual Assault Awareness Month.  In order to raise awareness, UC Clermont College is partnering with the YWCA of Greater Cincinnati to host a day-long awareness event on Thursday, April 14 on campus.

 

“Sexual assault is a serious problem on college campuses across the nation. One in four young women will be raped during their college years. We hope that students who attend this event will learn about the protection they have under Title IX as well the resources UC provides to victims of sexual assault,” said Wanda McCarthy, Associate Professor of Psychology at UC Clermont College.

 

The event is free and open to the community. The campus is located at 4200 Clermont College Dr., in Batavia.

 

Agenda for Thursday, April 14 9 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.

•  9:30 a.m. - movie The Hunting Ground

•  11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. - Resource Fair

•  12:30 p.m. - Welcome by Dean Jeff Bauer

•  Soul Survivor Exhibit by Artist, Karen Lilliard, whose work is inspired by victims

•  1 p.m. - movie The Hunting Ground

•  A panel discussion at the end of the afternoon movie

•  Resource tables from various community agencies
