Students, faculty and staff at the University of Cincinnati rolled up their sleeves to help hundreds of local patients during the September all-campus blood drive, hosted by Hoxworth Blood Center. The first blood drive of the 2017-18 school year saw 1,356 donors registered and 991 products collected, including 556 first-time donors. The UC main campus blood drive averaged 200 collected products for each of the four days.

The 1,356 donors were registered at the following drives:

• Sept. 1 at College-Conservatory of Music: 61

• Sept. 5 at University Hall: 32

• Sept. 11-14 at Tangeman University Center: 1,092

• Sept. 13 at UC Blue Ash: 60

• Sept. 14 at UC Clermont: 54

• Sept. 15 at the University of Cincinnati Medical Campus: 57

“Hoxworth Blood Center is incredibly fortunate to have the support of the UC Bearcats when it comes to bolstering our blood supply,” said Alecia Lipton, Hoxworth spokesperson. “The blood products collected from the University of Cincinnati community will help countless patients in 31 area hospitals.” The next UC all campus blood drive is scheduled for Nov. 27-30 in the Tangeman University Center.
