Donate to the UC All-Campus Blood Drive

Hoxworth Blood Center is asking for help from the University of Cincinnati community to replenish its blood supply during a period of low blood donations and high usage.

The University of Cincinnati All-campus blood drive is back again, and is scheduled for today, Monday, Nov. 27 through Friday, Dec. 1.

Each donor will receive a $7 gift card from Raising Canes.

“Blood donations typically dip this time of year, as cold weather and illnesses often prevent people from donating,” says Alecia Lipton, Hoxworth spokesperson. “We are counting on the UC community to help us save lives in the Tri-State area by making a blood donation. During our last all-campus blood drive, we collected over 700 blood products, and we’re hoping to collect even more this time around.”

The drive will take place in Tangeman University Center’s Great Hall 10:30 a.m.-5:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday. On Friday, Dec. 1, a donor bus will be parked at CARE/Crawley on the medical campus 9 a.m.-3 p.m. and at TUC Commons 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Hoxworth invites all UC students, faculty, staff and the entire Tri-State community to make a donation during the drive.

Additionally, a donor bus will be on the University of Cincinnati Clermont Campus 9 a.m.-3 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 28 and University of Cincinnati Blue Ash 9 a.m.-3 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 29.

The last UC campus drive in September resulted in 1,356 registered blood donors and 991 collected blood products.
