Updates to the UC Mobile App Coming in March
The UC Mobile App is getting a refresh on Thursday, March 1. The updated UC Mobile App will feature a new and more accessible interface. The new environment is built upon a flexible framework that will support increasing functionality over time. The initial launch creates a solid foundation and will support features including:
- News & Events
- Maps
- Shuttle Tracker
- NightRide
- Athletics
- Campus Safety
- Libraries
- Campus Directory
- Social media
The app update will feature integrated social media, opt-in push notifications and feedback. It also will introduce a robust location-based communications module, which connects students, faculty, staff and alumni with events, news and university announcements. In addition units across the university will have the ability to create mobile content in a rich and dynamic environment.
New features to look for soon include:
- Tours of campus that incorporate photos, audio and video.
- The ability to push notifications to specific audiences.
- Gamification opportunities.
- Indoor maps.
- QR codes.
- Conference and event registration.
- Course registration.
- Dining integration.
- Parking integration.
- Interactive social media via selfie walls and custom profile frames.
