UC to Host Community Forum, Generate Ideas to Improve Health Care
CINCINNATIThe University of Cincinnati (UC) and the Health Improvement Collaborative of Greater Cincinnati will host a community health care forum from 4 to 5:30 p.m., Tuesday, Jan. 13.
This event is part of a national Chartered Value Exchange program to engage the community in discussions on transforming health care at the local and national level.
The forum, which is free and open to the public, will be held in Room 2108 of the Stetson Building,
260 Stetson St., across from University Hospital at the corner of Martin Luther King Drive and Highland Avenue. In this Town Hall-like discussion, participants will talk in depth about health care reform and will share their ideas about ways to improve health care in the United States.
The results of these discussions will be shared with state and national policymakers in an effort to inform their decisions over the next year.
Theres a large body of research showing that health care is very different in communities throughout the U.S., says Craig Brammer, senior research associate with the UC department of public health sciences. Our aim is to convey to policy leaders whats working here in Greater Cincinnati, as well as what our challenges are. We need leadership from Washington that builds on the very real successes in communities across America.
Robert Graham, MD, professor and Robert and Myfanwy Smith Chair of Family Medicine, will be leading the discussions.
