UC Health University Hospital, Cincinnati Children's Among Nation's Best

UC Health University Hospital and Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center are once again listed among the nation’s best by U.S.News & World Report.

The 2011-12 Best Hospitals Guide ranked 16 specialties and is available at usnews.com. Nearly 5,000 hospitals were considered; only 140 were ranked in one or more specialties.

University Hospital’s ear, nose and throat program was ranked No. 21, up from No. 22 in the 2010-11 rankings. The report cites University Hospital’s significant reputation with specialists, high nursing staffing and high-level of advanced technologies among the reasons for this ranking.

U.S.News called University Hospital "high-performing" in cancer, cardiology and heart surgery, diabetes and endocrinology, gastroenterology, geriatrics, gynecology, nephrology, neurology and neurosurgery, orthopedics and urology.

Cincinnati Children’s ranked first for gastroenterology, second for pulmonology, third for nephrology and neonatology, fourth for urology, fifth for orthopedics and cancer, sixth for diabetes and endocrinology, eighth for neurology and neurosurgery and ninth for cardiology and heart surgery.
