Southers Named President of MR Society
Barry Southers, assistant professor of advanced medical imaging technology in UC's College of Allied Health Sciences, has been elected president of the International Society of Magnetic Resonance in Medicine Section for Magnetic Resonance Technologists (ISMRM-SMRT).
ISMRM-SMRT is an international MR society devoted to the advancement and education of MR professionals and students worldwide.
Southers was elected to a three-year term beginning in May 2014, where he will begin as president-elect for one year prior to serving as president and past president for one year each.
At the UC College of Allied Health Sciences, Southers serves as program director for the MRI Program in Advanced Medical Imaging Technology.
His research focuses on functional MRI/MR Spectroscopy, as well studies evaluating the current MRI curriculum and specific learning styles of medical imaging students.
