Schwartz Awarded Top ISOPP Honor

Rowena "Moe” Schwartz, PharmD, associate professor of pharmacy practice within the James L. Winkle College of Pharmacy and pharmacist for the University of Cincinnati (UC) Cancer Institute’s Phase I Experimental Therapeutics Program, received the Helen McKinnon Award at the 2018 International Society of Oncology Practitioners (ISOPP) Annual General Meeting April 12, 2018.

This award was created to honor Helen McKinnon who was instrumental in the formation of ISOPP and is given to those who promote and enhance oncology pharmacy practice worldwide in order to improve cancer patient care.

Schwartz, who joined the Winkle College of Pharmacy in 2016, teaches oncology pharmacy therapeutics and practice and works with students during their advanced pharmacy practice experiences. Additionally, she works as part of the UC Medical Center’s oncology pharmacy team at the UC Health Barrett Cancer Center patient care facility in ambulatory oncology.

"This is a pretty incredible accomplishment. (Dr. Schwartz) is a huge asset to our clinics,” says Trisha Wise-Draper, PhD, assistant professor of medicine in the Division of Hematology Oncology and medical director of the UC Cancer Institute’s Clinical Trials Office.
