DAAP hosts second annual DAAPX symposium virtually

University of Cincinnati alumni, friends and community members are invited to a virtual day of face-paced, TEDTalk-style presentations on diverse projects and experiences from the College of Design, Architecture, Art, and Planning alumni across all majors and degrees. Originally scheduled for April, organizers are excited to be shifting presentations online so participants can tune in live from anywhere in the world.

This edition of DAAPX tackles the topic of experiential design and the work of DAAP alumni that is created for and influences or impacts people. Last fall, the DAAP Alumni Network accepted proposals for presentations that tell a story about a project that was designed with an individual’s or group’s experience in mind, offering the opportunity to see select presentations that are centered on that human experience.

From the design and build of the Los Angeles FC Soccer stadium to the use of empathy as a driver for design at the Cleveland Clinic to the reopening of exhibits at the iconic Cincinnati Museum Center (to name a few), this will be a morning you won’t want to miss.

This virtual event is complimentary. Be sure to register so you receive the official streaming link the week of the event.

We’re all familiar with one of time’s odd characteristics: Something may have happened ages ago, but it can feel like only yesterday. Over many years, things change a lot, or maybe not at all. This feeling is occurring now within the newest members of the UC Alumni Association’s Golden Bearcats Society, which honors those who have reached the half-century mark as University of Cincinnati graduates.
