Delfina Lassalle, a master of design major, has introduced a new podcast - called Studio Sessions at DAAP - for students to share personal experiences and engage in discussions on various topics focusing on student development.

Stevie Famulari, a visiting professor in horticulture and landscape architecture at UC, teaches students to immerse themselves in design processes. Famulari learned ways to educate students on the sensitivity of design while in graduate school and brings those lessons to academic intuitions across the country.

Alumnus Harry Sparks is the ultimate go-to guy. An architecture graduate (‘67 ), he has built or remodeled countless retail institutions (think Bloomingdale’s, Macy’s and Home Depot), casinos, hotels and even the famous Rabbit Hash, Kentucky, General Store, where the tiny town has a dog as its mayor. But that’s just been his day job. After hours, Harry has spent the last 60 years as one of country music’s premier luthiers. Superstars like Vince Gill and Sam Bush come to Harry for acoustic instrument work.

As the 2022 DAAP Distinguished Alum of the Year, Kristen has embraced the spirit of the program’s curriculum and her co-ops to boldly found DŌ, Cookie Dough Confections, the world’s first edible cookie dough confectionery. Along with some other entrepreneurial alumni, she is also the impetus for DAAP’s new Creative Entrepreneurship Initiative.
