Step 1: Sign up. Complete a Basic Data Form. Make sure to select the option that indicates you are taking classes as a Senior Auditor to ensure your account is set up correctly for billing purposes. As a reminder, to be eligible you must be

• a current Ohio resident (at least 1 year of residency);
• 60 years or older.

Step 2: Access to your new student account. Approximately 3-5 business days after submitting the form, you will receive two emails. The first will provide your UCID and Username. The second will have your official university email address and directions for accessing your UC email. These emails will be sent to the email you provided on the Basic Data Form. Please note that if you were previously a student at UC, you may not receive these emails.

Step 3: Start learning UC technology. Log into your UC email, Catalyst, and Canopy to learn the technology UC students use. You can find more about these technologies here. See below for your to-do list as a new student:

Get your UCID (M#)

1. Log into Catalyst
2. Select the three dots in the top right corner
3. Your UCID number will be displayed

 
Check for outstanding tasks

1. Log into Catalyst  (learn more about outstanding items in Catalyst)
2. Select the Tasks tile
3. Choose To Do List or Service Indicators
4. Click each item for additional info

 
Check your UC student email

This is the official mode of communication used by the university.

1. Go to mail.uc.edu
2. Log in using your username (often called your 6+2) and password

After becoming a senior audit student, you can start looking at classes in Catalyst.

A few things to remember: 

• You must remove all blocks (financial agreement) from your account. The advising block will be removed by the TTAC but if you do not remove other blocks, you will be blocked from registering. Only the student can remove these blocks.
• Senior Audit students do not register until the first day of semester. Keep in mind you will not be able to register for classes until the first day of the semester. Your account will have an advising block. This will be removed by the Transfer and Transition Advising Office.
•  There must be seats available in the course. If the course is closed, you will not be able to add the course to your schedule. This is to give degree seeking students a chance to register. 
• You must meet prerequisites to register for a class. This could be that you do not have the prerequisite (or lower) course or that you do not have the program in the. If you do not meet the minimum prerequisites of a class, please use the permissions form to inquire about obtaining prerequisite permission.  

An email will be sent to your UC email account with directions on how to register for a class as a Senior Audit student about one week before the start of the semester.
