How do I apply?
To submit an application for the Regional to Clifton Transition Scholarship or the Transition Access Award, students will log in to Catalyst and click on the "Scholarships" tile to access "Scholarship Universe." Students can search for each specific award using "regional to clifton transition scholarship" and "transition access award" in the search feature. Each application takes less than 5 minutes to complete.
Students who meet the criteria for both the scholarship and the access award should apply for both. Applying for both will allow a student to be considered for each; however, selected students may be granted one of the awards, not both.
When do I apply?
Students must apply within the term that they are graduating with their associate degree.
The applications for the Regional to Clifton Transition Scholarship and Transition Access Awards will be available in Scholarship Universe on these approximate dates each term:
Term Graduating |
Application Window |
---|
Spring term associate degree graduates |
March 1 - April 15
|
Summer term associate degree graduates |
July 1 - August 1 |
Fall term associate degree graduates |
November 1 - December 1 |
To apply for the Regional to Clifton Transition Scholarship or Transition Access Award, students must have submitted for change of college/program; however, they may not know whether they have been accepted to the new college at the time they apply and that is OK.
I am not graduating with my associate degree can I still apply?
The purpose of the Regional to Clifton Transition Scholarship and Transition Access Award is to support students as they transition from the regional campus upon the completion of their associate degree and continue to a college on the Clifton/Uptown campus to complete an on-campus bachelor’s degree program. The intent is to encourage students to continue to a bachelor’s degree program immediately after the completion of their associate degree.
Students who choose to transition to a program on the Clifton/Uptown campus prior to completing their regional campus program and being awarded their associate degree do not meet the criteria for this scholarship or access award.
I did not file a FAFSA for this academic year can I still apply?
Students may be able to apply for the Regional to Clifton Transition Scholarship without having filed a FAFSA for the current year. However, students will be unable to complete the Transition Access Award application unless they have a completed FAFSA for the academic year the award would be granted.
Also, many scholarship opportunities in Scholarship Universe require the FAFSA as part of the application process. Students should always submit the FAFSA early to improve their search for scholarship opportunities.
Due to the increased tuition costs when changing from a regional campus to a college on the Clifton/Uptown campus, a student’s financial aid may be considered differently. Regardless of previous FAFSA review, students should file a FAFSA for the academic year they plan to begin a program on the Clifton/Uptown campus.
I am not enrolling in an on-campus bachelor’s degree program next term can I still qualify?
Students must be enrolling full-time in an on-campus bachelor’s degree program offered by a college on the Clifton/Uptown campus in the term following the completion of their associate degree.
- Students graduating with a regional associate degree in the fall should be enrolling in a Clifton/Uptown college in the spring term.
- Students graduating with a regional associate degree in the spring should be enrolling in a Clifton/Uptown college in the summer or fall term.
- Students graduating with a regional associate degree in the summer term should be enrolling in a Clifton/Uptown college in the fall term.
I meet all the criteria will I receive the scholarship/access award?
The number of scholarships and access awards granted each term is limited based upon available funding. Application for the scholarship or access award does not guarantee a student will receive the scholarship or award. However, a student must complete the application in the term they are graduating with their associate degree to be considered.
Students who meet the criteria for both the scholarship and the access award should apply for both. Applying for both will allow a student to be considered for each; however, selected students may be granted only one of the awards, not both.
I plan to enroll in an online bachelor’s degree program. Am I able to apply?
The Regional to Clifton Transition Scholarship and Transition Access Award require that a student be enrolled in an on-campus bachelor’s degree program. Students enrolling in an online program, including all programs offered by UC Online do not qualify for this scholarship or access award.
Students pursuing online programs are encouraged to contact the college they plan to attend and the UC Online office for scholarship opportunities. Students should also search Scholarship Universe for opportunities available both from UC and external to the university.
I applied for the transition scholarship/access award, when will I know the outcome of my application?
The review of the scholarship and access award applications is completed as soon as possible following the date associate degrees are certified at the end of each academic term. Since this certification follows the completion of the academic term, the review process will not complete until after the end of each academic semester.
All applicants are notified if their application was selected or declined.
