The Hygienic Manufacturing of Cosmetic Products Certificate courses cover interdisciplinary topics relevant to cosmetic product science and hygienic manufacturing. Specifically, courses included in the program will cover basic formulation science, introductory skin and hair science, microbiology, product preservation, plant engineering and hygiene, product packaging, and quality assurance.
Admission Requirements
- A BS degree in a field of science such as chemical engineering, chemistry, biology, or industrial engineering.
- Applicants should have taken courses in organic chemistry and basic calculus.
- International students may require a language proficiency test such as TOEFL, IELTS, or Duolingo.

This online program is designed to meet the needs of students with baccalaureate undergraduate degrees in the sciences who are currently employed in the cosmetic, personal care companies, engineers and formulators who wish to advance their careers, or those who are interested in pursuing careers in this field.
- All courses are offered asynchronously over the internet to accommodate the work and travel schedules of those who wish to take courses without distraction from their current employment.
- Each student collaborates with the academic advisor to develop a Plan of Study as a framework that outlines their courses for completion.
- Asynchronous learning with discussion forums and state-of-the-art learning management system allows convenience for effective learning.

The Graduate Certificate program in hygienic manufacturing of cosmetic products requires completion of thirteen (13) semester credit hours of study. All are required courses for this program. Additionally, students must complete the coursework with a GPA of 3.0 or higher.
Students who are accepted into the certificate program are eligible to apply for advanced standing to have their transfer credits evaluated for acceptance.
International students are eligible to apply.
