Admission Requirements
Applicants to UC's Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner Post-Master's Certificate online program must have a minimum of one year of RN experience with excellent assessment skills at the generalist level before undertaking advanced practice. For those who do not meet this requirement, the part-time option is offered to allow nurses to continue working to gain experience. Please refer to the Post-MSN Certificate Program Prior Coursework webpage to learn more about appropriate and acceptable prior coursework required to be eligible to take the certification exam after graduation. This coursework will be built into your plan of study if not completed in your prior academic endeavors and taken in addition to the standard curriculum.
