Bearcat Recycling

As a hub for the Cincinnati community at large, UC football & basketball games can generate a significant amount of waste. Our volunteers dedicate their time and energy at 5/3 Arena, Nippert Stadium, and tailgating areas to divert waste from the landfills by collecting recyclables that would otherwise end up in the trash.

More than just a singular waste reduction effort, Bearcat Recycling educates students on proper recycling, inspiring mindful waste habits and empowering the UC community to make a lasting impact.

With strong volunteer retention, the program has grown into a thriving community for recycling advocates and boosted student engagement on campus. Looking ahead, we aim to expand our effort to more athletic events and further reduce our environmental impact, one volunteer and one recycled item at a time.
