Indiana Residency for Tuition Purposes
There are two discounted tuition rates available to Indiana residents who meet the criteria: Indiana Reciprocity and Indiana Metropolitan Rate. Each rate has specific requirements based on both the residential county in Indiana and the program in which you are enrolled.
Indiana Metropolitan Rate
University of Cincinnati students currently living in all counties within Indiana (program exceptions noted below) are able to attend UC at an established metropolitan tuition rate. The Indiana Metropolitan Rate is the Ohio In-State Tuition Rate plus the surcharge.

Ineligible Programs
- Graduate-level programs at the College of Design, Architecture, Art, and Planning
- Undergraduate Industrial Design program in the College of Design, Architecture, Art, and Planning

Please note: Once approved, the Indiana Metropolitan Rate is reflected as a Non-Resident Surcharge on the student's term bill.
Reciprocity for Indiana Students in Selected Counties
University of Cincinnati students currently living in the 28 Indiana counties listed below—or students enrolling at UC within 12 months of graduating from a high school located in an eligible county—(with noted exceptions) are eligible for the Ohio Resident Tuition Rate.

Adams, Allen, Blackford, Clark, Dearborn, Decatur, DeKalb, Delaware, Fayette, Floyd, Franklin, Harrison, Henry, Jay, Jefferson, Jennings, Noble, Ohio, Randolph, Ripley, Rush, Scott, Steuben, Switzerland, Union, Washington, Wayne, and Wells
Ineligible Programs
No programs are currently excluded from this rate. Effective July 1, 2023, Nursing programs and Pharmacy programs are now eligible for the Indiana Reciprocity Rate.
Important Information
Students who move to Ohio are no longer eligible for the Indiana Reciprocity or Metropolitan rates and will have to meet the residency guidelines established by State of Ohio Law and Ohio Department of Education.
